Agriventures becomes a member of the Bio-based Industries Consortium (BIC)

We are proud to announce that Agriventures is officially a member of the Bio-based Industries Consortium (BIC), one of Europe’s leading organisations dedicated to advancing the circular bioeconomy and strengthening collaboration between industry, innovation and research.
BIC represents the private sector within the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU) and brings together companies, universities, research organisations, startups and industrial leaders from across the bio-based value chain. Its members operate in sectors including agriculture, food systems, biotechnology, forestry, chemicals, biomaterials, waste valorisation and sustainable industrial technologies.
Joining BIC marks an important strategic milestone for Agriventures as we continue building stronger bridges between innovation, entrepreneurship, science and industry in the agrifood and bioeconomy sectors. Over the past years, Agriventures has actively supported startups, researchers, SMEs and innovators through ecosystem building, access to funding opportunities, partnerships, acceleration activities and international collaboration.
As Europe accelerates investments in sustainability, circular economy and industrial innovation, participation in programmes such as CBE JU becomes increasingly important for organisations aiming to develop high-impact projects and cross-border collaborations.
With the upcoming CBE JU 2026 calls opening soon, organisations should already begin preparing consortiums, identifying industrial partners and positioning their projects strategically. Under several CBE JU schemes, including RIA, IA and Flagship projects, industrial participation and BIC membership can play a significant role regarding IKOP contribution thresholds and proposal competitiveness.
Through our BIC membership, Agriventures aims to further support organisations seeking access to European partnerships, industrial collaboration and innovation ecosystems connected to the bioeconomy transition.
Companies, startups, universities, researchers and organisations interested in participating in upcoming European bioeconomy calls are welcome to connect with Agriventures as a potential ecosystem and strategic partner.
Our goal is to help create stronger consortiums, facilitate connections between innovators and industry, and increase the participation of emerging ecosystems from Central and Eastern Europe in major European initiatives.
The upcoming CBE JU 2026 funding opportunities and open calls can already be explored through our platform: https://agriventures.co/
We believe that the future of Europe’s bioeconomy will be shaped through stronger cooperation between entrepreneurs, researchers, industry leaders and innovation-driven organisations, and we are excited to contribute actively to this transformation together with the wider European ecosystem.
The role of Agriventures in supporting agrifood innovation
As the agritech startup ecosystem grows across Europe, initiatives such as Agriventures are helping connect entrepreneurs, researchers, investors, and policymakers working in agriculture and food innovation.
Agriventures focuses on supporting agrifood startups, biotechnology innovation, and access to European funding for agriculture, while also helping entrepreneurs navigate the complex landscape of startup financing, venture capital, and research commercialization.
By strengthening connections between startups, research institutions, investors, and farmers, Agriventures contributes to building a stronger agricultural innovation ecosystem that can accelerate the transition toward sustainable agriculture and resilient food systems.
Through knowledge sharing, events, and ecosystem building, Agriventures helps ensure that promising agritech innovations can scale and reach farmers, food producers, and global markets.

Agriventures Joins SYSARM: Helping Europe’s Farmers
Every farmer already knows how to manage risk day to day — weather, prices, supply chains, you name it. What most don’t have is a way to see how all of those risks connect, and how a decision made today can come back to bite (or help) them two seasons from now. That’s the gap SYSARM is here to close, and Agriventures has just signed on as a core partner to help make it happen. On 27–28 May, our team — represented by Ivaylo Yankov — joined partners from Italy, Romania, Bulgaria and Poland in...

At Green Transition Forum 6.0 in Sofia, four leading agrifood innovators tackled the hard questions about AI, biotechnology, EU funding gaps, and what it really takes to scale technology from lab to farm. European agriculture is under pressure from every direction — rising input costs, climate instability, tightening sustainability regulations, and a funding landscape that doesn't always match the pace of innovation. On June 4, 2026, at the main stage of Green Transition Forum 6.0 in Sofia,...
