EU to Host “Carbon Removals and Carbon Farming – CRCF Days 2026” in Brussels

The European Commission will host the “Carbon Removals and Carbon Farming (CRCF) Days 2026” on 20 -21 May 2026 in Brussels, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, researchers, and stakeholders to advance Europe’s carbon removal agenda.
The event is part of the EU’s ongoing efforts to operationalise the Carbon Removals and Carbon Farming (CRCF) Regulation, a landmark framework establishing a voluntary certification system for carbon removals, carbon farming, and carbon storage across the Union.
The CRCF framework represents a major step toward building a credible and transparent carbon removal market in Europe, setting clear standards for measuring, verifying, and certifying CO₂ removals.
The CRCF Days 2026 will provide a platform for:
Discussing carbon farming practices and their role in climate mitigation
Exploring financing mechanisms and market opportunities
Engaging stakeholders in shaping the future of carbon removal policies
Carbon farming is increasingly recognised as a key tool in achieving EU climate targets, particularly by enhancing soil carbon sequestration and supporting sustainable agricultural practices.
The event comes at a critical moment, as the EU moves toward scaling carbon removal solutions and preparing the first certified projects under the CRCF framework, expected as early as 2027.
In parallel, initiatives such as the planned EU Buyers’ Club aim to stimulate demand and mobilise private investment in carbon removal projects, further accelerating market development.
With the EU targeting climate neutrality by 2050, carbon removals and carbon farming are becoming essential components of the transition.
The CRCF Days 2026 event is expected to play a pivotal role in aligning stakeholders, sharing knowledge, and driving the next phase of implementation—turning regulatory frameworks into scalable, real-world climate solutions.

Agriventures Joins SYSARM: Helping Europe’s Farmers
Every farmer already knows how to manage risk day to day — weather, prices, supply chains, you name it. What most don’t have is a way to see how all of those risks connect, and how a decision made today can come back to bite (or help) them two seasons from now. That’s the gap SYSARM is here to close, and Agriventures has just signed on as a core partner to help make it happen. On 27–28 May, our team — represented by Ivaylo Yankov — joined partners from Italy, Romania, Bulgaria and Poland in...
