Horizon Results Booster: Free EU Support to Turn Research Results into Real-World Impact

At a glance: A free European Commission initiative | Open to Horizon Europe, Horizon 2020 and FP7 projects | Expert-led dissemination and exploitation support
Great research does not create impact on its own. Every year, EU-funded projects generate valuable results that risk staying inside final reports and academic papers, never reaching the businesses, policymakers or communities that could use them. The Horizon Results Booster exists to close that gap, and it does so at no cost to the projects it supports.
If your project has produced results with potential beyond the lab, this is one of the most practical forms of support the European Commission offers. Here is what the Booster does, who it is for, and how to make the most of it.
What is the Horizon Results Booster?
The Horizon Results Booster is an initiative of the European Commission that provides free-of-charge, expert-led services to EU-funded research and innovation projects. Its purpose is straightforward: to help projects navigate the complexities of dissemination and exploitation, so their findings are converted into concrete benefits for society, the economy and the environment.
The scale of the initiative speaks for itself. Since its launch in 2020, the Booster has handled more than 5,200 service requests, supported over 2,500 projects, and reached more than 11,500 organisations involved in those projects. Delivered by a consortium led by META Group alongside partners including EURICE, ICONS, PNO, PPMI and Trust-IT Services, it has become a well-established part of the European research landscape.
Crucially, the support is tailored. Rather than offering generic advice, Booster mentors work with each project's specific needs, guiding teams through a customised roadmap of services.
Who can apply?
The Booster is open to a wide range of beneficiaries, which is part of what makes it so useful. Eligible applicants include projects that have received direct or indirect funding from Horizon Europe, Horizon 2020, Framework Programme 7, or other schemes such as Joint Undertakings, Partnerships and EIT Knowledge and Innovation Communities.
The flexibility goes further. Both ongoing and already-closed projects can apply, and support is available to a single project, a group of projects, a single organisation or a group of organisations. That means the value of past research is never off the table simply because the funding period has ended.
The three core services
Booster support is organised around a set of service packs that a mentor helps you assemble into a roadmap.
Dissemination Support. This service helps you design a promotion plan to maximise the impact of your results. It focuses on defining your key intellectual assets, identifying your target audiences, and choosing the right channels to reach them. It is the natural starting point for teams who know their results matter but are unsure how to communicate them effectively.
Go-to-Market Support. This service focuses on increasing the maturity of your Key Exploitable Results, often referred to as KERs. Experts help you develop a business plan to facilitate market access, and identify opportunities for further exploitation or reuse of your research. It is aimed at projects ready to move from proof of concept toward real uptake.
Add-on Services. These are additional services that a Booster mentor can append to your roadmap as needed. They include networking, portfolio analysis, intellectual assets management, and coaching for public speaking. Together they round out the core offer with targeted help where a project needs it most.
Why it matters
For most research teams, dissemination and exploitation are not core areas of expertise, and they are easy to underestimate until the project is nearly over. The Booster's real value is that it brings an outside, experienced perspective at the right moment, helping teams anticipate obstacles rather than discover them too late.
The initiative's success stories show the pattern across very different fields. Projects working on urban security, geospatial land management, road infrastructure and industrial artificial intelligence have all used Booster support to sharpen how they identify, valorise and scale their exploitable results. The common thread is not the subject matter but the outcome: results that travel further because someone helped shape the strategy to move them.

How to get started
Applying is simple. The application form is available on the Booster website, and there is a short video guide explaining how to apply. If you would like to understand the services before committing, the Booster runs regular info sessions, livestreams with a question-and-answer segment where you can put your questions directly to Booster experts. Subscribing to the newsletter is the easiest way to catch the next session and stay current on Horizon Europe dissemination and exploitation news.
For EU-funded projects sitting on results with untapped potential, the Horizon Results Booster is a rare combination: expert guidance, tailored to your project, at no charge. Turning results into impact is exactly the challenge it was built to solve.

Biotechnology, Agri-Inputs and Biosecurity: Why the Future of Farming Needs a Wider Conversation in Sofia
Agriculture is undergoing a quiet transformation. Genomic tools, precision biological solutions, and new generations of crop protection and plant nutrition products are changing what is possible in the field and along the whole food chain. At the same time, the same advances raise questions that the sector is only beginning to ask. Who controls the genetic resources and seeds we depend on? How do we manage biosecurity when biological agents and genomic technologies can be used for more than...

Where Agrifood Biotech and Research Funding Is Actually Going in 2026
Basic research doesn't fund itself, and in agrifood, the gap between a promising lab result and a fundable project often comes down to knowing which of a dozen overlapping EU programmes to approach first. Food safety science, biotech platforms, and multi-country research consortia each follow their own funding logic, and 2026 has brought fresh calls across all three. Two Live Examples Worth Studying Safe-Agri, one of AgriVentures' active projects, is reinforcing the security assessment...
