SAFE-AGRI Initiative officially kicks off

Agriventures is proud to officially launch the SAFE-AGRI Initiative — a new effort focused on exploring the future of secure, responsible, and resilient agri-food innovation in Europe.

As agriculture rapidly evolves through AI, robotics, biotechnology, drones, sensors, and digital data infrastructures, new opportunities are emerging alongside important ethical, societal, and security-related questions. SAFE-AGRI was created to help address these challenges through collaboration, foresight, and inclusive innovation approaches.

Over the coming months, the initiative will bring together researchers, agri-tech innovators, farmers, policymakers, civil society organisations, and experts from across sectors to explore the future of:

• Digital agriculture and AI-driven systems

• Biotechnology and agricultural innovation

• Food security and resilience

• Responsible governance of emerging technologies

As part of the initiative, Agriventures will facilitate participatory foresight and co-creation activities that will contribute to the development of practical governance approaches and an ORRI-based framework for evaluating agri-food innovations and their broader societal impact.

The first activities and events are already taking shape, and we are excited to begin engaging with stakeholders, innovators, researchers, and the wider agri-food community.
