Bulgarian agritech startup Smart Farm Robotix has been recognized by EU-Startups as one of the country’s 10 most promising startups to watch in 2026 and beyond, highlighting the growing international visibility of Bulgaria’s innovation ecosystem.

In its feature, EU-Startups placed the Sofia-based company among a new generation of local ventures building impactful technologies with strong global potential.

Founded in 2022, Smart Farm Robotix is developing autonomous agricultural robots designed to improve weed control in a more sustainable and efficient way. Its flagship solution, RoboAiWeeder, is a fully solar-powered robot that uses AI image recognition, GPS, sensors, and smart navigation to identify and remove weeds without herbicides. According to EU-Startups, the company has already secured €2.4 million to advance its technology and support wider adoption among farmers.

The startup is gaining attention for addressing some of agriculture’s biggest challenges, including rising labor costs, workforce shortages, and the need for more environmentally responsible farming practices. With its lightweight design and ability to operate in hilly or rocky terrain, RoboAiWeeder offers a practical alternative to traditional chemical and mechanical weed control, helping farmers reduce costs while supporting cleaner production methods.
