Up to USD 1.5 Million Available for Sustainable Agri-Food Projects Across 101 Countries

The Common Fund for Commodities (CFC) has launched its 29th Call for Proposals, offering impact financing of up to USD 1.5 million for projects that strengthen sustainable commodity value chains and improve the livelihoods of smallholder farmers.
The call is open to SMEs, cooperatives, social enterprises, NGOs, financial institutions, and public or private sector organisations operating in any of the 101 CFC Member States, providing an important financing opportunity for innovative agri-food businesses in developing economies.
Financing for Sustainable Commodity Value Chains
Unlike traditional grant programmes, the CFC provides financing primarily through loans and other debt instruments, supporting commercially viable projects with measurable social, environmental, and economic impact.
Funding is available for:
Up to USD 1.5 million for regular projects;
Up to USD 300,000 under the Fast-Track procedure for smaller initiatives.
The Fund offers competitive financing terms, with conditions tailored to the project's risk profile and, where appropriate, grace periods of up to two years.
Priority Areas
The current call focuses on projects that contribute to more sustainable, resilient, and inclusive agricultural value chains, including:
Regenerative agriculture and biodiversity protection;
AgTech and digital solutions for agriculture;
Trade finance connecting smallholder farmers with global markets;
Local value addition with low environmental impact;
Financial inclusion for smallholder farmers;
Women-led entrepreneurship and gender-responsive business models.
Priority consideration will also be given to projects implemented in Least Developed Countries (LDCs), Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs), Small Island Developing States (SIDS), and initiatives supporting the sustainable management of forest resources in the Congo Basin.
Eligible Countries
The call is open to projects implemented in any of the 101 Common Fund for Commodities Member States, spanning Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, the Middle East, and Europe.
Eligible countries include, among others:
Africa: Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ghana, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Morocco, Egypt, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal, and many others.
Asia: India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, China, and others.
Latin America & Caribbean: Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, and others.
Europe: Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Türkiye, and several additional member countries.
